Infertility Explained

A couple can be considered infertile if, after one year of regular physical intercourse, without contraception, the woman has not yet conceived a baby. Infertility can be because of male partner as well as female partner. In a case of male infertility, as it says, male partner is the reason for infertility. In other words, if because of a defect in male component , the female partner is not able to conceive then it is considered male infertility. On the other hand, if the infertility is due to female partner, it is called female infertility. In such cases, it can be assumed that the female component is responsible i.e. ova is not being released properly.

Reason Behind Infertility

Female infertility is caused due to structural problems like blocked fallopian tubes, uterine fibroids, polyps or other cervical canal defects. In many cases, the Hormonal imbalance leading to ovulation issues too can be the reason for infertility. In males, the infertility can be for anatomical, psychological, hormonal or lifestyle related reasons. In about 20-25% couples, exact reason for infertility can not be established using modern methods of investigation. In contrast, using Ayurvedic perspectives, we can say that shukra dhatu can get affected by physical and mental reasons and also as aftereffect of serious diseases. In most cases, the poor quality shukra-dhatu can the basic reason for infertility in males and females.
